I guard meowmie while she showers.

I
took in your pet today
the one you
left on the road
tired and scared
and hungry and sick
but so easy
for you to unload.
I took in your
pet today,
with fleas and
mange and ticks,
smelling so
nasty and looking so bad
yet these things
were so easy to fix.
So what if she
scratches the couch some?
So what if she
pees on the rug?
Give me a few
months and she'll come around
after sleeping
in my bed so snug.
I took in your
pet today
and I hope
when you too get old
that you too
are left, alone and so scared
and are treated,
as she was, so cold.

I spotted Chrissy about a week before Christmas,
she was like a gray ghost, sneaking some of the James Gang's food at night, terrified of everything, then on Christmas day,
she ran up to me, mewing pitifully, she was so hungry, I was especially missing Winston, my first Christmas without him, Chrissy
was a special gift to me, sent by an angel.She & I have a special bond.
Chrissy is so happy & carefree now, I call
her my baby gurl clown.
Meowmie says I am a clown!
Kitty's Bedtime Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray this cushy life to
keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice,
And sofa cushions, soft and nice.
For grocery bags where I can hide,
Just like a tiger, crouched
inside!
I pray for gourmet Kitty snacks,
And someone nice to scratch my back.
For window sills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore
at night.
I pray I'll always stay real cool,
And keep the secret feline rule.
To NEVER tell a human that...
